Announcement: Start of Charity Donations and Charity Runner Applications for Tokyo Marathon 2026

The Ronald McDonald House Charities Japan (RMHC) will be participating as a charity donation recipient organization in the Tokyo Marathon 2026, scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 1, 2026. We are now accepting charity donations and applications for charity runners.

Run to bring smiles to children fighting against illness and their families

By participating as a RMHC charity runner or making a donation through the charity program, you will be supporting the Ronald McDonald House.

What is Tokyo Marathon Charity?

The Tokyo Marathon Charity is an initiative to expand the circle of charitable activities through the Tokyo Marathon. You can participate by making a donation. Those who donate an amount equal to or greater than the minimum set by the recipient organization may also choose to run in the Tokyo Marathon 2026 as a charity runner, helping to raise awareness for the cause.

★How to Apply for the Tokyo Marathon 2026 Charity Program

There are two ways to participate:

(1)【Participate as a Charity Runner】

If you support the mission of RMHC and make a donation of ¥120,000 or more, you may participate as a charity runner. If the number of applicants exceeds the available slots, RMHC will select runners based on the following process:

We also warmly welcome donations only (¥1,000 or more), even if you do not wish to run.

All registered runners will receive a special RMHC T-shirt. Let’s complete the race together with teammates who share the same passion! (Wearing the T-shirt is optional.)

◇Receive Exclusive RMHC Merchandise!

We hope you will wear it to show that you are running as a Team RMHC Charity Runner and help raise awareness for Ronald McDonald House.

◇Your Name on the Tree of Gratitude at a House!

As a token of our appreciation, we will display a nameplate with your name on the Tree of Gratitude at the house of your choice (Optional. Available to both charity runners and donors). You can select from our 12 Houses and family rooms across the county, the upcoming Kyoto House (opening in 2026), the planned Shizuoka House, or the foundation itself.

* Only personal names will be accepted. For corporations or groups, donations of ¥200,000 or more are eligible for a nameplate.

* Nameplates for the Kyoto and Shizuoka Houses will be displayed after opening.

* Your name will also be shown on the official Ronald McDonald House website.

◇Access to a Hospitality Room Exclusively for Charity Runners After the Finish Line!

We are setting up an exclusive hospitality room for the Tokyo Marathon 2026 Team RMHC Charity Runners, where they can refresh their mind and body after their race. Share your post-marathon joy and excitement with fellow runners, your family members/friends, and the Team RMHC cheering squad!
